Pattern: Wind Strike (中風, Zhong Feng) with Network Strike (中絡, Zhong Luo) pattern

Key Symptoms: Paralysed facial skin and muscles, deviated eyes and mouth, water leaking from the corner of the mouth when rinsing because the lips do not hold it, incomplete closure of the eyes


Ingredients

Jing Jie 9g
Fang Feng 9g
Quan Xie 6-9g
Bai Jiang Can 10g
Bai Fu Zi 6g
Wu Gong 2-3g
Bai Zhi 10g
Gou Teng 20-30g
Ge Gen 12g
Tao Ren 10g
Hong Hua 10g
Zhi Shan Jia 6g

Subsitutions:
In the UK several ingredients need to be substituted:

Quan Xie + Wu Gong == Tian Ma + Tian Zhu Huang
Bai Jiang Can == Tian Ma
Bai Fu Zi == Tian Nan Xing
Shan Jia == Mu Dan Pi


Preparation: Decoction. The dregs can also be placed in a cloth and applied as a hot compress to the affected area.


Actions: Disperses Wind and invigorates the Blood in the Luo, transforms Phlegm and resolves paralysis
