Tong Luo Jiu

Pattern: Blood and Qi Stasis due to traumatic injury

Key Symptoms: Bruising, swelling and pain accompanying traumatic injuries


Ingredients

Chai Hu 15g
Xiang Fu 12g (processed)
Dang Gui 18g
Chi Shao 6g
Bai Shao 6g
Song Zi 6g
Wu Ling Zhi 15g
Chuan Shan Jia 15g
Gan Cao 9g
Jiu 1L

Subsitutions:
In the UK the following substitutions must be made:
Wu Ling Zhi = Yan Hu Suo and Lian Fang
Chuan Shan Jia = Mu Dan Pi


Preparation: Macerate the herbs and tincture in distilled white rice wine. Can be taken internally or applied externally.


Actions: Invigorates the Blood and dispels Stasis, reduces swelling and alleviates pain

Contraindications: Pregnancy due to the moving and expelling nature of the ingredients
