The Nineteen Lines on Pathology are a section of the Nei Jing Su Wen chapter 74 "Comprehensive Discourse on the Essentials of the Most Reliable" which outline the essential causes of main pathologies. They are:

All Wind causing swaying and dizziness, without exception are associated with the Liver. All cold causing contracting and pulling in, without exception are associated with the Kidneys. All constrained Qi causing chest pressure, without exception are associated with the Lung. All Dampness causing swelling and fullness, without exception are associated with the Spleen. All Heat causing pressure and spasm, without exception they associated with Fire. All pain with itching and sores, without exception are associated with the Heart. All recession with hardening or outflow, without exception are associated with the lower parts of the body. All limpness with panting and vomiting, without exception are associated with the upper parts of the body. All clenched and chattering teeth, and shivering as if the patient had lost his spirit guard, without exception are associated with Fire. All tetany and stiff nape, without exception are associated with Dampness. All counter movement of Qi rushing upward, without exception are associated with Fire. All distension and abdominal enlargement, without exception are associated with Heat. All overexcitement and jumping in craziness, without exception are associated with Fire. All sudden rigidity, without exception are associated with Wind. All diseases accompanied by sounds, with a beating like the beating of a drum, without exception are associated with Heat. All diseases of Fu-swelling, pain, soreness, and shock, without exception are associated with Fire. All types of contortions and watery fluids being turbid, without exception are associated with Heat. All diseases of watery fluids being extremely clear and cool, without exception are associated with Cold. All sour vomiting, sudden outpour, and downward pressing, without exception are associated with Heat.
