: Dannangxue : Gall Bladder Point

Ex-LE-6 : Extra Lower Extremity 6


Location:

Between 1 and 2 cun distal to Yanglingquan GB-34 on the right leg. Palpate to find the area of maximum tenderness.


Needling:

Perpendicular insertion 1 - 1.5 cun


TCM Actions:

Clears Heat and drains Damp
Treats cholecystitis and cholelithiasis

Superficial Innervation: Lateral cutaneous nerve of the calf (L5 - S2)

Dermatome Segment: L5

Is famous for becoming tender when the gall bladder is inflamed, in with case it can be needled (Deadman, Al-Khafaji & Baker, A Manual of Acupuncture).
