Traditional Actions/Indications:
- Tonify Lung Yin, clear Lung deficiency Heat and moisten Lung dryness, stop cough
Dry sore mouth and throat
Irritant dry mouth and cough
Bronchitis with sensations of heat and dryness
Whooping cough
- Tonify Stomach Yin, clear Stomach Heat
Gastritis with burning sensation and thirst
Gastric ulceration
- Clear Intestinal Heat and moisten the bowel
Entertitis or colitis with diarrhoea, bleeding and sensation of heat
Constipation with dryness and thirst
- Clear Bladder Heat
Urinary inflammation with burning sensation, maybe accompanied by sensations of heat and night sweats
- Topically to Clear Heat
As a gargle for mouth and throat inflammations
As a poultice or ointment for skin inflammation, burns, sores, wounds, ulcers or mastitis
As an enema for proctitis
- Promotes lactation
Suggested Daily Dosage: 30-45g of dried herb, or 10-15g of powdered dried herb, prepared as a cold infusion in 750ml of water, taken 3-5x per day.

This herb is not used in Chinese medicine and so the actions and indications are based on the western herbal indications and usages.
