Restore the Right [Kidney] Drink

Pattern: Kidney Yang and Jing deficiency

Key Symptoms: Exhaustion and feebleness, abdominal pain, sore lower back, cold extremities
Secondary Symptoms: True Cold and False Heat patterns where excessive Yin causes Yang to float to the exterior

Pulse: Thin


Ingredients

Shu Di Huang 6-60g
Shan Zhu Yu 6g
Gou Qi Zi 3g
Zhi Gan Cao 6g
Du Zhong 6g
Rou Gui 3-6g
Zhi Fu Zi 3-9g

Subsitutions:
In the UK Fu Zi must be substituted. Which substitution is best depends on the exact condition to be treated (e.g. Xu Duan for back pain, Tu Su Zi to replenish Essence, Bu Gu Zhi for exhaustion and breathlessness, Xian Mao for Bi syndromes).


Preparation: In the original instructions 2 egg yolks (Ji Zi Huang) are to be mixed into the strained decoction and taken warm.


Actions: Warms the Kidneys and replenishes essence
