Pattern: Delayed menstuation due to Blood deficiency and Blood stasis with Cold in the uterus

Key Symptoms: Overdue menses with scanty menstrual flow (often with blood clots) and pain and distention in the lower abdomen before and during menses.

Pulse: Submerged and strong


Ingredients

Shu Di Huang 6g
Dang Gui 6g
Bai Shao 6g
Xiang Fu 6g
Chuan Xiong 3g
Hong Hua 2.1g
Tao Ren 1.8g
E Zhu 1.5g
Mu Tong 1.5g
Zhi Gan Cao 1.2g
Rou Gui 1.2g

Subsitutions:
In the UK Mu Tong has to be substituted with Qu Mai.


Preparation: Decoction. The source text recommends cooking 2 cups down to one cup and drinking warm before meals.


Actions: Warms the menses, dispels Blood Stasis, nourishes the Blood

Contraindications: Pregnacy and any presentation without Blood deficency and Cold
