Pattern: Lurking Summerheat disorders with Spleen deficiency

Key Symptoms: Irritability, thirst, drinking that is followed by vomiting, incessant water diarrhoea

Rou Gui 15g
Ren Shen 15g
Huo Xiang 15g
Fu Ling 30g
Bai Zhu 30g
Gan Cao 30g
Ge Gen 30g
Ze Xie 30g
Shi Gao 30g
Han Shui Shi 30g
Hua Shi 60g
Mu Xiang 0.3g

In the UK Hua Shi, Shi Gao and Han Shui Shi must be substituted. This combination forms the main Summerheat clearing and Damp draining part of the formula so substitution could be attempted with Chi Fu Ling and Ze Xie (increase dose) to clear Heat and Dampness, Xiang Ru and Bai Bian Dou to clear Summerheat and drain Dampness plus Zhi Mu to clear Qi level Heat while protecting the fluids from excessive draining.

Preparation: Grind the ingredients into a powder and take with 9g with water or in a decoction of Sheng Jiang.

Actions: Expels Summerheat, clears Heat, promotes the resolution of Dampness, generates Yang fluids and augments deficiency of the Middle Jiao
