Gan Jiang Ren Shen Ban Xia Wan

Category: Formulas that Regulate Qi

Pattern: Vomiting due to pregnancy or deficiency Cold in the Spleen and Stomach

Key Symptoms: Vomiting, nausea, acid reflux
Secondary Symptoms: Chills, cold extremities

Tongue: Likely to be pale with a white coat

Gan Jiang 3g
Ren Shen 3g
Ban Xia 6g

Preparation: Ground into powder and formed into pills with ginger juice and water. 3-6g taken per dose. Can also be decocted with the addition of Sheng Jiang.

Actions: Warms and tonifies the Middle Jiao, directs rebellious Qi downward, stops vomiting.

Contraindications: Vomiting or acid reflux due to Stomach Heat.
