Pattern: Skin Oedema (Pi Shui) from inability of the Spleen Yang to control Dampness

Key Symptoms: Oedema that does not disappear from pressure under the finger and is more pronounced in the extremities, a sensation of heaviness in the body, fibrillations of the skin and muscles in the extremities

Tongue: White slippery coating
Pulse: Superficial

Han Fang Ji 9g
Huang Qi 6g
Gui Zhi 6g
Fu Ling 18g
Zhi Gan Cao 6g

In the UK Han Fang Ji must be substituted with Yi Yi Ren and Hai Tong Pi.

Preparation: Decoction.

Actions: Augments the Qi, unblocks the Yang, promotes urination, reduces oedema
