Pattern: Qi level Heat lingering in the Lungs damaging fluids

Key Symptoms: Lingering fever from a febrile disease accompanied by vomiting, irritability, thirst, parched mouth, lips and throat, choking, cough, stifling sensation in the chest
Secondary Symptoms: Restlessness, insomnia

Tongue: Red with little coating
Pulse: Deficient and rapid

Dan Zhu Ye 6-12g
Shi Gao 30g
Ren Shen 6g
Mai Men Dong 9-18g
Zhi Ban Xia 9g
Zhi Gan Cao 3-6g
Jing Mi 12-15g

Shi Gao is difficult to substitute but in this instance Zhi Mu will assist the formula in clearing Heat and generating fluids.

Preparation: Decoction.

Actions: Clears Heat, generates fluids, augments the Qi, harmonises the Stomach

Contraindications: Febrile diseases where the normal and pathogenic Qi are abundant, when the fever is high or the fluids are not yet damaged.
