Pattern: Severe Painful Obstruction of the chest

Key Symptoms: Pain in the chest that radiates to the upper back which is so uncomfortable the patient is unable to lie down comfortably, wheezing, cough with copious sputum, shortness of breath

Tongue: Thick greasy coating
Pulse: Submerged, wiry or tight



Ingredients
Gua Lou 12g
Xie Bai 9-12g
Bai Jiu 30-60ml



Preparation: Decoction. Often prepared with equal amounts of wine and water. Where wine in contraindicated it may be reduced or omitted entirely.

Actions: Unblocks the Yang, promotes the movement of Qi, expels Phlegm
