Pattern: Damp-Heat Bloody Painful Urinary Dribbling

Key Symptoms: Rough, painful urination that is the colour of red bean juice, or with tiny stones
Secondary Symptoms: Acute lower abdominal pain

Tongue: Thin coating that is either white or yellow
Pulse: Slippery, rapid
Abdomen: Discomfort and pain on pressure in the lower abdomen

Chi Fu Ling 12-18g
Dang Gui 9-15g
Gan Cao 3-6g
Chi Shao 9-18g
Zhi Zi 6-15g

Preparation: Decoction.

Actions: Clears Heat, cools the Blood, promotes urination, unblocks painful urinary dribbling

Contraindications: Defiency Cold patterns, long term use

Designed for acute phase of bloody and painful urinary disorders. Once the acute symptoms have been relieved it should be switched to something that addresses the underlying pathology.
