Key Symptoms: Wheezing, fullness and distention in the chest and diaphragm, cough with copious sticky phlegm, inhibited stools

Tongue: Thick yellow coat

Huang Qin 9g
Zhi Zi 9g
Bo He 4.5g
Zhi Qiao 6g
Xing Ren 9g
Lian Qiao 9g
Sang Bai Pi 9g
Jie Geng 9g
Da Huang 4.5g
Mang Xiao 4.5g (add at end)
Gan Cao 4.5g

In the UK Mang Xiao should be substituted with Yu Li Ren.

Preparation: Decoction. The source text advises equal amounts of the ingredients. The dosages given are those in most modern texts

Actions: Clears Heat, descends the Lung Qi, eliminates Phlegm, regulates Qi
