Pattern: Fire Excess in the Gallbladder (cholecystitis)

Key Symptoms: Unremitting pain in the hypochondria, bitter taste in the mouth, dry mouth, alternating fever and chills, abdominal distention

Tongue: Red or dark red with dry yellow coating
Pulse: Wiry, slippery and rapid, or flooding and rapid



Ingredients
Chai Hu 15g
Huang Qin 15g
Zhi Ban Xia 9g
Yin Chen Hao 30g
Zhi Zi 9g
Long Dan Cao 9g
Yu Jin 9g
Mu Xiang 9g
Da Huang 9g (add near end)
Mang Xiao 9g (add to strained decoction)

Subsitutions:
In the UK Mang Xiao must be substituted with Yu Li Ren.



Preparation: Decoction.

Actions: Spreads Liver Qi, unblocks the Interior, resolves Dampness
