Pattern: Cold thin mucus due to Yang deficiency and ascendant Yin

Key Symptoms: Cough and wheezing with profuse sputum that is thin, watery and white accompanied by a feeling of discomfort in the chest and diaphragm

Tongue: White slippery coating
Pulse: Wiry, slippery

Fu Ling 12g
Gan Cao 9g
Gan Jiang 9g
Xi Xin 9g
Wu Wei Zi 6-12g

In the UK Xi Xin may be substituted with Zi Su Ye and Bai Qian.

Preparation: Decoction.

Actions: Warms the Lungs and transforms congested fluids
