Pattern: Second and third stage trauma to sinews and bones

Tou Gu Cao often refers to a combination of Tou Gu Cao and Feng Xian Tou Gu Cao.

Preparation: Source text advises grinding into a course powder, sewing in a white cloth sack and boiling like a decoction. At present the herbs are usually cooked in 2-3 cups of water and simmered for 20-30 minutes loosely covered. The herb bag is then removed and the liquid used to steam and then wash the affected area or the bag used as a compress, redipped in the water occasionally to keep hot, or covered with a hot water bottle.

Actions: Invigorates the Blood, disperses swelling, dispels Wind, Dampness and Cold, unblocks the Collaterals, relieves pain
